Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. How can I get vaccinated?
A. We are following the guidelines set forth by Sacramento County Department of Public Health. We cannot vaccinate persons outside of the tier system which is being followed by the Sacramento County Department of Public Health. Please click here to visit their website for more information.
Q. How can I get on your Standby List for extra vaccines?
A. A link will be added soon. Persons with the highest risk factors (advanced age, medical conditions which add risk, etc.) will be contacted first. Please do not call or email us to be added to the list. We cannot manage the number of calls and emails we are getting while also effectively caring for our patients.
Q. Can I come stand at the pharmacy at the end of the day to wait for a vaccine?
A. Absolutely NOT. Stay home and stay safe. We will call the highest risk persons on our wait list at the end of the day in the unlikely event that we have vaccinations remaining because someone did not show up for their scheduled appointment.
Q. When will I receive my second shot?
A. You will be contacted by the pharmacy when it is time to schedule an appointment for your second shot. As per CDC guidelines, there will be a minimum of 28 days from receipt of your first Moderna COVID vaccine with no maximum time interval. If you have further questions about this, please refer to the CDC Guidelines available by clicking here.
Q. How do I schedule my second shot if I need one?
A. You will be provided instructions about location (most likely the same site where you received the first shot) when it is time to schedule your second shot. A link to a scheduling application will be posted here on our website for you to select a day and time for your appointment. No scheduling will be done by calling into the pharmacy.
Q. Can I call or email to schedule an appointment?
A. No. Please do not call or email the pharmacy. The reservation process will be completed by you on our website AFTER you have received notification from the pharmacy that it is time to schedule your second shot.
Q. What if I don’t have internet access?
A. Should you need to schedule a second shot, one of our staff members will contact you to schedule an appointment via phone call. Please if you are able to have a friend or family member help you schedule, this will help us out a ton! A huge THANK YOU goes out to everyone who has helped us in the process of getting these shots delivered to the healthcare providers and long term care residents we have vaccinated thus far. THANK YOU to those individuals who have answered the call to get somewhere in a hurry to use up the remaining vaccines at some of the facilities where we had extra doses that would have gone to waste. THANK YOU to the nurses, dentists, dental assistants, pharmacists, pharmacy students, pharmacy technicians, medical assistants, veterinarians, and all the others who have volunteered and helped manage the clinics we’ve had in the store and offsite. We are overwhelmed with gratitude.
